Q. What hormone regulates fat accumulation in the body?A. Insulin (proven medical fact since 1965)Q. What food group makes our pancreas secrete Insulin?A. Carbohydrates and only carbohydrates.Eat more Carboyhdrates and you will get fatter. Its that simple. I have been low carbing 18 months after the ridiculous low fat high carb diet failed time and time again for me. Why only during the last 30 yrs do we have an obesity epidemic?? Low fat is easy for the food corporations - not us.

Diets are BS. Changing your activity level and what you eat based upon your needs is better then any diet.diet = starve yourself of something.

I've been on low carbs since feb. 08 and all is good. All my test results are excellent and this "way of life is easy". My husband chlorestal levels went down 40. Not every diet is for everyone.

Since you're young and still growing let's not decrease your eating. Lets just have you eat less junk food. Less sweetened drinks, snacks, cakes, cookies, no fast food. Things like that. Very simple. Then 20-30 mintues of walking or jogging every day will burn additional calories helping you to lose weight. Just be patient. It takes a little time but it will happen.

Unfortunately, that might be enough. Better suggestions?

The only diet that ever worked for me was when I focused on eating foods with a low glycemic load, low to moderate fat levels, and high protein. But, there still are quite enough carbs, just in the form that doesn't spike insulin levels. Also, I feel like I have more energy in the gym and dont get hungry as often.

Gluconeogenesis look it up.Carbohydrates are non essential. Looks like you are a firm believer in what the government prescribes as healthy. Going low carb can actually effect the body by better utilizing insulin when no carbohydrates are present. Of course going low carb involves a fat to be present with each protein meal to balance your blood sugar but I am sure you already knew that.
